Drop off at Kennards Panorama — U E64/617 Goodwood Road, Panorama SA 5041 — 7 days a week
Get Drop-Off DetailsPop your mixer, bowl and beater in a box with your name, mobile number, and a written description of the fault. Drop it at our parcel point:
U E64 / 617 Goodwood Road, Panorama SA 5041 (Kennards Self Storage)
Kennards staff will accept it on our behalf and notify us when it arrives. They have no connection with our business beyond receiving goods and notifying us — this is a parcel point only, not a shopfront. Please don’t attend expecting to meet a technician.
Kennards Panorama is open 7 days a week:
Note: We only do repairs during normal business hours Monday–Friday. The 7-day drop-off is for your convenience — not a 7-day repair service.
Include only what is necessary:
Don’t send the juicer if the beater is hitting the bowl. Most Artisan Mixers look identical apart from colour — and accessories are almost always identical. Please mark and label your accessories clearly if you do supply them, as we can’t make a mistake if they’re properly identified.
Once your mixer arrives, we will assess it within 1–4 business days. We’ll text you a quote — normally including images of damaged items. Before we send the quote, we’ll ask you to pay the $75 minimum charge.
Our quotes are based on a cursory inspection of the machine. A full and thorough inspection is not cost-effective — at minimum that would require removing the old grease and cleaning the parts so we can visually inspect the mechanical components. This work is well beyond a cursory inspection.
We only do the work you instruct us to do. We don’t assume what work you want done.
Once your repair is complete and payment is received, we’ll return your mixer to the Kennards Panorama parcel point and text you to let you know it’s ready. Collection is available 7 days a week during Kennards opening hours.
We will also text you what was done and any recommendations to avoid future issues of the same kind.
Text messaging creates an audit trail that both you and we can rely on. It means we only do the work you’ve specifically instructed, and you can feel confident that everything is above board and done in accordance with your instructions.
We will send you pictures of your machine’s pre-condition and post-condition so you can feel comfortable that all work has been done properly.
If you can’t send and receive electronic communications or prefer not to, please find an alternate service better suited to your preferences.
The $75 minimum charge applies to all mixers received. It is non-refundable and must be paid prior to receiving a quote. It is not payment for the quote itself — it covers our overheads for the inspection process.
If you go ahead with the repair, the minimum charge is deducted from the total. If you choose not to proceed, the $75 covers our time.
Our standard charges are:
Every repair is different — we’ll always quote before proceeding with any work.

The final transaction proof is attached to your machine via our business card.
We use an NSF H1 food-safe grease — the highest classification for food-industry lubricants. H1 grease is safe even if it makes its way into your food bowl.
The original KitchenAid factory grease was not food safe. KitchenAid replaced it with a white food-safe grease for the planetary action, but we have found this doesn’t lubricate and protect the gears as well. To our knowledge, we are the only KitchenAid repairer in Adelaide using a completely food-safe grease.
All food-grade greases leach oil to some degree — this is actually a benefit as it lubricates the bushes. However, it does mean some oil may make its way out of the gearbox over time, which is normal.
This is normal and expected after a gearbox service. Some oil or cleaning fluid can get trapped in hard-to-reach places and take a little time to work its way out.
All greases separate over time — this is how oil leaks from stable grease. The challenge is to have that happen slowly. If the grease doesn’t separate at all, lubrication can actually be less effective. Give it some time and it should stop. If you’re concerned, call us and we’ll explain what to expect with your specific repair.
Yes — a slight smell after a gearbox service or motor repair is normal and expected. New parts, fresh grease, and cleaned components often have a “break-in” smell that dissipates over time.
If the smell is strong, burning, or accompanied by smoke, call us immediately.
It depends on what’s needed:
We apologise in advance for not being able to provide an ETA if we need to order parts. We will always text you before ordering and advise any alternatives.
Yes — most KitchenAid parts haven’t changed much in 50 years. Older models are often very repairable. The main challenges are:
We’ll always advise you of any limitations before proceeding.
Not necessarily. After major repairs your mixer may sound slightly different than before — new parts vs worn parts have different acoustic signatures. There is often a “break-in” period where operation smooths out.
In many cases, mixers actually perform better than they had been for months before the failure. If you’re concerned, call us and we’ll explain what to expect with your specific repair.
Yes — we warranty our workmanship. If something we’ve repaired fails due to our work, we will address it.
However, warranty does not cover:
No. Test and Tag is a commercial requirement intended to meet Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation. We repair domestic mixers — the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 does not apply to domestic appliances.
If you are a commercial customer and require Test and Tag, contact your regular contractor and ask them to attend to this so your appliance is added to your WHS records.
